In the beginning of this year I bought a beautiful piece of Nani Iro Double Gauze in the miss Matatabi webshop. I totaly fell in love with the print ... but wasn't convinced by the texture of the fabric so the piece landed into the fabric stash. Until I decided to turn it into a jumpsuit at the beginning of this month. A match made in heaven!

The Maggie Mae Dress/Tunic from Shwin Designs was the first pattern on my list. I first spotted the dress on this fantastic blog and was instantly in love with the model of the dress and of course, the colorblocking.
But then, I hesitated. The dress has buttons and I never made buttonholes. It was even one of my biggest fears. It's really silly because it's my sewing machine who does almost all the work but still ... cutting into a made dress: it was an obstacle I had to conquer.
The Maggie Mae is really easy and quick to sew. So quick I decided to sew two versions. First one is a dress in a fabric from veritas with lovely automn leaves, combined with mustard yellow. And the second version is a tunic in a local black and white fabric I combined with royal blue colorblocking fields.
And those buttonholes ... honestly ... were not that difficult to do.
